Within this workshop we discussed into depth our experiences within the first vocational competition. All participants had the feeling that they got a clear picture of the level of knowledge, skills and competences which we have to develop within the different education systems to prepare the students for the work market in horse business. Only the pedagogical part was not good enough included. For that reason we decided to change this for the next vocational competition in France.
With the experiences out of the vocational competition we started to work out the ESKO standards and goals of the working placements:
1. Manual of the working placement practices2. List of the working placement enterprises3. Checking the use of ECVET for the definition ofthe learning outcome 4. Contents of the Symposium in Mafra in July 2014
Within working groups’ we tried to cover the following topics:
Group 1. Quality guidelines, criteria for the studentGroup 2. Criteria for the working placements, stablesGroup 3. The use of ECVET), contacts and communication system
Beside that we organized student’s clinics. The idea was that the students from the participating schools were involved in the practical work of the hosting school. In that way they got the chance to get an “experience nugget” regarding the life as a student within the hosting school and education system.
At the end the students had to practice lessons in dressage as a team of trainers. The task was to analysis one horse-rider-combination regarding their strength and weaknesses in dressage into depth and create out of this a plan for a suitable lesson. This was assessed by the participating teachers and in that way they were able to add their approach and opinions regarding the different contents. Out of this setting the workshops developed to a learning environment for all participants. For the students, the teachers and also for hosting school and its staff.
